It is Halloween 2020. I did not record an album about horror movies. I did record an album during quarantine about the horror that is everyday life. Started in April, or maybe May, as an attempt to record all the songs in the "Voice Memo" on my phone, it then turned into something different as I finished writing songs that had gone unfinished for years. A Dickwölf song, a Leeves song, songs that would have been for different bands. Songs that I wouldn't know which band to play it with. (Is there a classic rock song on here?) By June, the project was dead and I was just working, eating, watching tv, and filling every other minute doom-scrolling - only to repeat the process infinitely. It's a weird time to be alive. I guess it always has been. Cataloging the notes and words that come out of my head seems such a trivial thing to invest myself in, but a lot of times it is the only thing that has kept me alive. If you are listening to this, I'm glad we are still alive. (Well, I'm not glad all of us are still alive, but I'm really trying to be positive.)
